Western Crows running machine claims round 4 Rising Star

The AFL New Zealand Rising Star award will be awarded weekly to a standout young player in the 2020 AFL New Zealand Premiership.

Each week the award will be allocated to those who show ability that favours the core components it takes to become an AFL Player. To be eligible to be nominated for the award, a player must be born in 2001 or younger.

The AFL New Zealand Rising Star award for round 4 of the 2020 AFL New Zealand Premiership has been awarded to Ronan Morling from the Western Crows.

Ronan has been involved in the AFL New Zealand High Performance programme for a number of years after first being introduced to the sport playing for Rosehill College in the AFL Cup.

The 18 year old from South Auckland plays for the Manurewa Raiders in the Auckland AFL and was drafted by the Western Crows during the 2019 National Draft.

Ronan is a fast paced winger who reads the game well and with more time to develop his game, Ronan can set his sights on making the International Cup squad in 2023.
