Young Hornet ready for the top level

Howick Hornets squad member Daniel McCarthy will be available for selection in this years National Draft as he prepares to be involved in the 2020 AFL New Zealand Premiership.  

 

McCarthy was a development player during the 2019 Premiership and was awarded the Rising Star in Round 7 after an impressive performance playing for the Central Giants.

Daniel is a consistent player and is hungry for more development. Currently playing for the Howick Hornets in the Auckland AFL, Daniel continues to hone in on his skills in hope of one day playing for the New Zealand Falcons.

The 17 year old represented the AFL New Zealand Academy Level 2 side back in April this year and his next goal is to the make the NZ U18 side who travel to Melbourne in May next year.

The 2020 AFL New Zealand Premiership begins on February 9th at North Harbour Stadium in Auckland.
