The AFL New Zealand Academy is seen as the perfect opportunity for continued development from initial involvement at Secondary School or Youth Programme level towards High Performance, New Zealand Representation, and International opportunities.
The 2022 AFL New Zealand Academy will commence on;
- Auckland; Wednesday 16th February 2022
- Wellington; Wednesday 16th February 2022
- Christchurch ; Thursday 17h February 2022.
The Academy will take place over an 8 week period with participants located at training hubs in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch
Features of the 2022 AFL New Zealand Academy will include;
An 8 week programme based at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch training hubs focussing on; Skill development and game understanding. These will be held in conjunction with AFLNZ Premiership Trainings, with support from the Premiership coaches and players.

Academy participants born in 2005 will also be part of the AFL New Zealand Premiership Development Player Programme

Sunday Sessions (Optional)
Extra opportunities will be provided to the boys to attend Premiership games on Sundays and be involved with team talks and warmups. During the game, they will be involved with the game by standing next to coaches and to help develop their understanding of the game by running water and getting a different perspective of how the game is played by been on the field. You can select what games you will attend, AFLNZ will assign what team you can be involved with for the day. AFLNZ Premiership Schedule.
