Throughout the Covid-19 lockdown, AFL New Zealand has formed a number of subcommittees through a community support structure aimed to enhance alignment of quality football opportunities across New Zealand.
Each of the sub committees is chaired by an AFL New Zealand staff member and works towards containing representatives from the Wellington AFL, Canterbury AFL and other regions across New Zealand. Each subcommittee has a focus on a different portfolio and meets monthly.
Subcommittees include;
- Women’s Development
- Junior Competitions
- Men’s Competitions
- Umpiring
- Marketing and Events
- Finance
- Governance
The purpose of these committees is to encourage sharing of learning’s and experiences within the regions of New Zealand. This will assist in creating a best practice model for AFL volunteers, administrators and participants.
