Northcote College from Auckland’s North Shore have been crowned Junior Hawks Cup North Island Champions for 2015.
The North Harbour cluster champs were too strong for Southern Cross Campus (Counties Manukau cluster winners) and were deserved winners on the day.

Played at Onepoto Domain in Auckland, the championship game was played at a fast pace with some high skills on display. Both sides were full of talent with William Avatea (Southern Cross Campus) and Bailey Clarke-Leolahi (Northcote College) the standout players throughout the game. Northcote College co-captain Jake Tucker (5 goals) was exceptional in the middle of ground and used his knowledge from the AFL New Zealand Youth Competition to control the game. Having that experience within their team, Northcote built themselves a strong lead and some wayward kicking by Southern Cross cost them the opportunity to get themselves back into the game.
In the end, it was the team from Northcote who claimed the trophy for Junior Hawks Cup North Island Champions for 2015.
Special thanks to Ben Curtis (Southern Cross) and Paul Hewson (Northcote College) for organising their school teams.
