Lauren Pearce is the number one ruck for the Melbourne Demons AFLW side and has continued to assert her dominance in the competition since 2017.
With NZ heritage through her father, Pearce established herself as one of the best rucks in the competition in 2019, earning All Australian honours and coming second in the club’s Best and Fairest award.
The nimble ruck, who acts as an extra midfielder, continued her form into the VFLW season winning the Lambert-Pearce Medal as the league’s best player.
Lauren had a interrupted 2020 season due to a knee injury, but made a solid return to footy to claim third place for the clubs Best and Fairest award in 2021.
The Melbourne Football Club have two of the best rucks with NZ heritage in both the AFLW and the AFL, with Max Gawn captaining the Men’s side.
