The 2026 AFL New Zealand Youth Programme has undergone redevelopment, bringing exciting new opportunities for youth to play AFL.
The programme will still include development sessions, to make sure all participants get the opportunity to learn, develop and grow their skillset, before putting their new skills to the test in a fun competitive new game format. which has been designed for new participants to learn and play AFL.
The programme is open to boys and girls born between 2012 and 2016, with locations running in both Auckland and Canterbury from November to December.
Participants will:
- Learn and develop skills such as kicking, marking, handballing and teamwork
- Put those skills into action through fun, modified AFL games
- Build confidence, stay active and meet new people
- Enjoy a welcoming environment suitable for every experience level
No previous AFL experience is required. Simply come along, get involved and have fun!
